Playing in a Galactic Crusade can be one of the most fulfilling and thrilling ways to play Warhammer 40K. To play in the Crusade you must first assemble an army of Games Workshop Warhammer 40K Models. You will also need the Core Rule Book, and your army's Codex. To keep track of your Crusading force and its accomplishments you will need an Order of Battle sheet, and several Crusade Unit Roster sheets. Downloadable copies of these are provided below. Now, let's organize that Crusade Army!
Your Order of Battle will be used to Keep track of your Crusading Force. Give it a cool name and note it on your sheet. Now that you know who you are and who you represent, come up with a cool MYTHOS of your Crusading Army's origins, purpose and intentions. Have fun with your backstory and write it down in CRUSADE ARMY'S MYTHOS. Write your CRUSADE ARMIES MYTHOS on the back of your Order of Battle.
BATTLE HISTORY is where you record the number of Battles your Army has been in, and how many of them they were Victorious in.
RECORDS OF ACHIEVEMENT will be where you keep track of the War Zones your army has gained Veteran status in, and the Army Trait you have gained for earning Veteran status in that War Zone.
Your Army's SUPPLIES and REQUISITIONS is used to keep track of your Army's size and resources. SUPPLY LIMIT tracks the maximum total POINTS of your army at any given time. The cumulative Points of all forces in your Crusade can never exceed this number. SUPPLY USED is the actual combined Points total of all Units in the Crusade Army. REQUISITION POINTS represent your resources, or rather the ability to acquire new resources. Your Army begins with a SUPPLY LIMIT of 1000 Points, and 5 REQUISITION POINTS. Mark this on your sheet. Since you haven't added any Units to your Crusade Army yet, your SUPPLY USED is 0. Now let's add some Units to this Crusade Force.
To add a Unit to your Order of Battle, simply mark it on your order of battle, noting it's points and Crusade Value. Then fill out a Crusade Unit sheet to record this Unit's details. You must have a Unit sheet for every Unit in your Order of Battle. When you add a Unit to your Order of Battle, adjust the Supply Used total accordingly. Remember, Supply Used can never surpass Supply Limit. Each Battle Honor will add to your units Crusade Value, and must be tracked on both your Unit card and Order of Battle Card.
FLEET SIZE marks the size of your forces fleet of massive ships. Mark this somewhere on your Order of Battle. This game mechanic is optional. If you choose to play with Fleet Rules, your Crusade Force begins with 50 ships in their fleet. To gain more fleet points, challenge another player who has at least 1 ship in their Fleet Size. They must accept, or pay you 1 Resource Point from their Resources. If they accept, you begin Boarding Actions. Choose a scenario from one Warzone Space Hulk battle plans and play a game. The challenger becomes the attacker, and the player challenged becomes the defender. If the attacker wins, their Fleet Size goes up 1, and the loser or defender Fleet Size goes down 1. If the Defender wins, both players Fleet Size remain the same, but the Attacker does not gain the 1 RP for playing a game, the Defender gets it instead, earning 2 RP for playing instead of 1.
